1. Overview

SOS Community Alert ("the App") is a community notification tool for riding groups. It sends alerts to Discord — not to emergency services. This policy explains what information the App collects and how it is used.

2. Information we collect

Information you provide

• Display name — shown in Discord alert messages
• Discord user ID — used to @mention you in alerts
• Relay URL & token — connects the App to your community relay (token stored encrypted on your device)
• Optional note — non-emergency assistance details you choose to send

Information processed on your device

• GPS location — ride start detection and map links in alerts. Location is not uploaded continuously; it is sent only when an alert is triggered or confirmed.
• Motion sensors — on-device impact detection while ride monitoring is active. Sensor data is not sent unless an alert fires.
• Test diagnostics — optional system check text in test alerts only

What we do NOT collect

• No selling of personal data
• No advertising or analytics SDKs (v1)
• No contacts, photos, or microphone
• No automatic contact with emergency services

3. How information is shared

When you send or confirm an alert, the App sends data to your community relay server, which posts to Discord channels configured by your admin. Members with access to those channels can see your name, Discord mention, location, and alert details.

4. Data retention

Alert messages remain in Discord according to server settings. The App does not operate a central rider location database in v1. Relay server logs (if any) are controlled by your community admin.

5. Permissions

The App may request location (while using and always), notifications, and uses motion sensors on-device. You can revoke permissions in phone Settings; some features will not work without location.

6. Security

Relay tokens use platform secure storage. Use HTTPS relay URLs in production. Keep your relay token private.

7. Children

The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

8. Your rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data. Contact [support email] for requests.

9. Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be posted here and may require re-acceptance in the App.
